UPPD D.A.R.E Officer Cristina Mendiola maintains an office at McCullough Middle School. She can be reached at 214-780-3510.
The purpose of D.A.R.E. (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) is to teach students about the harmful effects of drugs, alcohol, and tobacco. In doing so, the program seeks to educate students that drugs can and will kill. The program also seeks to make students aware of the actual extent of drug use among adolescents and of the kind of peer pressure they may face to take drugs. As participants in the program, students will be able to identify consequences of using and choosing not to use drugs, tobacco, and alcohol.
