Neighborhood history is easy to access using UP Public Library’s Brown Books! These records contain thousands of subdivision records of individual construction permits for UP homes across several decades. Over 98 percent of all documents include a photograph of the original structure. To see if your address is in this compilation of records, click here. Once you are in the Brown Books site, type in the house numbers and street name in the search bar. If you would like an 11x17 print of the image, email University Park Public Library at info@uptexas.org. Please include your name and the address that you’re interested in viewing. There is a charge of $1.50 per page to print from the Brown Books. Stop by the library's front desk to submit payment and then you will receive your images!

Within two business days our Librarians Zoe Williams (children and teens) or Sharon Perry (adults) will send an email back to you with a list of up to five books that match your interests and favorite titles. Our email will include links so you can go right to our catalog and read a description of all the books on the list.
