Recreational Swimming starts July 1

Special Notice on Pool Pass Processing: City offices will be closed on Friday, July 3 in celebration of the July 4 holiday. All pool pass orders received by 4:30 p.m. Thursday, July 2 will be processed. Orders received after that time this will not be processed until Monday, July 6.  During the holiday weekend please do not dial 311 for pool pass or pool reservation assistance.
Thank you for your help and understanding.

Beginning July 1, pool patrons will be able to use the large pool, the baby pool and splash pad areas, as well as the diving boards and slide.

Note:  Because of the Governor's Executive Order, facial covering must be worn at the facility by people 10 and older who are not swimming, who are not with immediate family members, and cannot maintain social distancing with others.

  • Reservations will be required for all swim times, and no walk-ins will be allowed. This will help ensure that no more than a designated number of swimmers are in our facility at any one time, and give us time to sanitize the facility between time blocks.  We will start with (100) openings for each two-hour time slot.  Hopefully, we can increase our occupancy numbers as the summer progresses.
  • The reservation process will begin online on Sunday, June 28.  Each pass holder can book only one recreation swim time slot per day.  Time slot reservations can be made up to 72 hours in advance.  Reservations can also made with the Parks and Recreation Department, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 214-987-5488.
  • Recreation swimming is only available to pass holders.  You may not bring guests.
  • Please have your reservation receipt, or photo ID upon entering the facility.

Waiver Requirement
Due to COVID-19 health concerns, all swimmers must sign a waiver before entering the facility for the first time. Once you have purchased your passes, we will email a waiver to you to sign and email back. This waiver will cover all members of your household.  This signed waiver will remain valid for the entire 2020 pool season. Wavier Form

What to bring with you
To enter the facility during your reserved time slot, please bring a photo ID, such as your driver license.  Although restrooms will be open, for your convenience and ours, please come to the pool already in your swimsuit. You can bring your own chair, and you are encouraged to bring towels, goggles, swim equipment and sunscreen, because these products will not be available at the pool for purchase. Our concession stand will not be available this year for the purchase of food and drinks. Outside food and drinks are allowed, but please remember that we do not allow alcoholic beverages or any items in glass containers.

Note:  All aquatics programs for the 2020 pool season have been canceled.  These include: swim lessons, swim team, senior swim, Dive In movies, library story time, Doggie Splash Day, and all onsite parties.

The Holmes Aquatic Center is located at 3501 Lovers Lane within Curtis Park. The complex offers a 50-meter pool, a giant water slide, 3-and 1-meter diving boards and a walk-in ramp to aid handicapped accessibility. A separate pool, with an aerated fountain and shaded area is available for younger children.

Adjacent to the existing children's pool and approximately 1,500 square feet in size, a zero-depth sprayground automatically distributes water to more than 25 spray and water features so that younger children can safely spray, splash and slosh the day away.

For questions regarding the city's aquatic facility, please contact the Parks and Recreation Department office at 214-987-5488.
