University Park is an outstanding organization that values and supports its workforce, resulting in a historically low turnover rate and long-tenured employees. The City maintains a close, family-oriented culture that values service and excellence in serving its residents. Here you will gain insight into a few of the internal programs the City offers its employees that enables this culture.
For example, UPLift is an employee volunteer program that was created by a Leadership Academy class consisting of City employees. This program, which was approved by the City Council in October 2018, allows employees to use one work day each year to volunteer at an organized event. The group partners with various charities, such as Scottish-Rite, the Humane Society, Bonton Farms, the North Texas Food Bank and more.
In addition to UPLift, an Employee Committee also plans and executes various fundraisers and events throughout the year, including the annual Memorial Day Picnic and Holiday Luncheon. These events are a huge hit and a great opportunity for employees across all departments to collaborate and spend quality time together!
The City also offers various training programs and enrichment classes that contribute to collaboration across various departments, which are well received among employees. University Park is more than just a great place to live. These are just a few reasons why it is also an amazing place to work!
