Zoning Ordinance Revisions - Next Public Hearing, November 6

October 10, 2018

Two years ago, a 12-member special committee comprised of residents, local builders and former City Council members began reviewing the City’s existing zoning ordinance. The primary objective of the effort was to improve the document’s regulatory clarity and application consistency. Accordingly, the committee sought input from different stakeholders including additional builders, architects, real estate agents and property owners.

On September 11, the City’s Planning and Zoning Commission received the suggested ordinance and opened a Public Hearing to receive comments on the revisions. That hearing remained open for additional comments at the Commission's October 9 meeting.

Following the public hearing, the Planning & Zoning Commission unanimously recommended approval of the draft Ordinance. This recommendation will be forwarded to the City Council for consideration at their regularly scheduled meeting on November 6. At that meeting, residents will have another opportunity to provide comments.
