HP/UP Blood Drive -- September 12
Carter BloodCare needs 1,100 donors each day to meet the needs of healthcare facility patients in its 54 county service area in North, Central and East Texas.
For the fifth consecutive year, to help answer that need, the Town of Highland Park and the City of University Park are joining together to host a community blood drive. This year you can roll up your sleeves and give on Friday, September 12.
Carter BloodCare personnel will staff two locations:
Highland Park Town Hall - Community Room (4700 Drexel Dr.) 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
University Park Public Library - 3rd Floor Community Room (8383 Preston Center Plaza) 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
To be eligible to donate, candidates must be either 16 years old with a parent’s consent, or 17 and up with no upper age limit. All donors must weigh at least 110 pounds, be in good general health and present a photo ID.
Ideally, a donor should eat a good meal and drink plenty of fluids before giving blood.
Carter BloodCare is the largest not-for-profit 501 (c)(3) community blood center in Texas and is accredited by the American Association of Blood Banks, licensed by the Food and Drug Administration and is a member of America’s Blood Centers.
The blood drive is coordinated by the Rotary Club of Park Cities.
