Storm Aftermath - Free collection of brush and tree limbs through May 23.
May 9, 2014
Collection of brush and tree limbs free for two weeks.
The May 8 storm caused significant tree damage throughout the community. As a result, collection of brush and tree limbs from curbside will be free-of-charge through May 23.
Storm Recap - High winds and torrential rain downed numerous tree limbs and power lines. City storm sirens were activated at 3:32 p.m. In all, City emergency personnel responded to 57 calls for assistance during a two-and a-hour period, but there was no serious property damage and no one was injured.
Most of the tree limb damage was located on the southwest side of the city near the Dallas North Tollway. One tree limb fell across two parked cars, another fell across a front porch. City crews put barricades in place at several intersections due to high water. All barricades were removed within two hours. CERT members were used to keep people away from two downed power line locations. Power was out to addresses throughout the city.
