Purchasing Division Receives Award

The City of University Park Purchasing Division earned the Achievement of Excellence in Procurement Award for 2014.

This award was established in 1995 by the National Purchasing Institute (NPI) to recognize the achievement of organizational excellence in public procurement.  The award is achieved by those organizations that demonstrate excellence in procurement by obtaining a high score on rating of standardized criteria.

The program is designed to measure innovation, professionalism, e-procurement, productivity, and leadership attributes of the procurement function.

The City of University Park is one of only 69 cities in the U.S. and one of 46 government agencies in Texas to receive the 2014 award.  The City has received the award for 14 consecutive years (since 2001).
